About Saint Luke Lutheran Church
Saint Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Devon, PA, is a lively and loving community of over 1,150 Christians, steeped in centuries of Lutheran tradition, but living firmly in the 21st century. We are dedicated to living out the St. Luke mission: To Know, Love and Serve Christ.
Weekly worship is an important element of life at St. Luke. We offer diverse, Christ-centered services, which provide worshipers with unique personal opportunities to experience God’s love and amazing grace. Worship services are enhanced through a strong and vibrant ministry of music for all ages and talents, including five choirs and a contemporary praise band.
There are a variety of different worship services to choose from at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Traditional worship services are a traditional liturgical communion service with our pipe organ. Blended worship services use the traditional liturgy but a more contemporary setting and hymns from a variety of sources and includes communion. Contemporary worship services are built around praise songs, the appointed lessons, prayers and Holy Communion. A time for fellowship and refreshments is always part of the worship experience.
In addition, the church calendar includes numerous other fellowship opportunities, such as concerts, special meals, picnics, women’s circles and men’s groups.
At St. Luke, we are committed to knowing Christ through lifelong study of the Gospel. We offer educational opportunities for everyone from toddlers through adults. Our exciting Youth Ministry program provides educational, social and service opportunities for 7th through 12th graders. Our Vacation Bible School program serves over 130 youth each summer and is one of the most vibrant of its kind on the Main Line.
Motivated by Christ’s call to serve others, St. Luke has a strong and growing commitment to its outreach and social-ministry initiatives. These focus on care to children in crisis, including tutoring urban youth, fund-raising to support low-income mothers and babies, supporting a local school for children with special needs, and gathering of Christmas gifts for foster children.
We also serve our neighbors in need, both near and far, including serving meals to HIV-positive persons in Philadelphia, stocking a local food bank, making quilts for global relief efforts, sending care packages to deployed soldiers, helping to settle refugee families, and assisting disaster victims.
There is so much good work going on at St. Luke Lutheran Church and so much more to do. We welcome you to join our growing community of faith.
