How it works: Take photos (digital or film) that supports the theme as you interpret it.

Pick ONE and enlarge it to an 8 X 10 PRINT. (Shot between now and then)
Optional: Pick ONE more from your archives if you wish--enlarged to an 8 x 10 PRINT.

Each participant should bring 1 or 2 theme photos. The way the subject is interpreted is often as interesting as the photos themselves. Think of it as a photo scavenger hunt. If there is time, and you have photos you were considering, bring them. It is interesting in following your process from the theme to the shots to “THE ONE”.

(8 x 10 Prints are easily available at camera shops or pharmacies for $1.50- $3.)

Caregiving- Stephen Ministry at St. Luke

Why Stephen Ministry? Do I need it? How can it help me? The answers lie in the many ways in which our hearts can be pierced or broken. In the blend of joys and sorrows that make up our lives, the low points- death, loss, stress of crisis, can further stress our faith- pain doubled and redoubled! A relationship with a Stephen Minister can bring to you the peace of knowing God still loves you and We still love you! Your soul is gently healed! Thanks be to God!

The Stephen Leaders Team — Dawn Moynihan, Pastor Jon and Steve Ross— will begin training St Luke’s first class of Stephen Ministers in early September. Nine or ten of your fellow members have made the soulful commitment of fifty hours of required training. Pray that they will be enriched by this experience and that we might complete this training by later this fall and welcome the first of St Luke’s members to receive care!

Bridge Group

Our once a month bridge group that meets in Schlack Hall had stopped for the summer. During this time one of our members, Ruth Butterfield, passed away. Sweet Ruth Butterfield loved to play bridge and was instrumental in getting a group started here. She often brought friends from where she lived and one of our members picked them up so that they would not have to walk.

Her Memorial Service was August 7th and all our hearts were there. She showed how one little member could bring fellowship and friendship in a different way. I just had to say, "Thank you Ruth for wanting this to happen and getting to know you and all your special friends."

Our group will have an empty chair this fall when we resume play. If you would like to come, please feel free to join us. We will begin our game on October 6 at 1:00 p.m.
