  • On February 5, we will celebrate the rite of installation for Pastor Matt Staniz, giving thanks for the ministry that St. Luke and Pastor Matt share. Bishop Claire Burkat, of the Southeastern PA Synod, will preach and preside at the installation. During the Education Hour, the Bishop will host an adult forum in Schlack Hall.

  • Advocacy Alert
  • The Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Pennsylvania (LAMPa) has made St. Luke aware of some important information and has requested that we it share with our members.
    “Starting May 1, Gov. Tom Corbett plans to bar Pennsylvanians with modest savings from accessing SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Families with as little as $2,000 in savings ($3,250 for seniors and people with disabilities) would no longer qualify for assistance. Tens of thousands of our neighbors will be cut from the program in this tough economy.  To join LAMPa in expressing concern on this issue, click on more

  • Pray for Logan
  • We've been praying for Logan Schweiter, the grandson of members, who was injured in an accident in a local creek.  A fund has been set up to help his family with medical expenses not covered by insurance.  If you'd like to contribute, click on "more", below.  Logan's family sends "CarePages" updates to the caring community that's keeping him in their prayers.

  • Paying it Forward
  • Our 2011 stewardship theme of “Pay it Forward” encouraged us to reflect on God’s abundant blessings in each of our lives and to respond through generous giving of our time, talent, and treasures. On June 19, 2011, the Stewardship Team invited the members of St. Luke to takeanother step in our journey together.  $50.00 was given to each household in attendance on that Sunday, along with a challenge to “Pay it Forward” by using the funds to further our St. Luke mission to “Know, Love, and Serve Christ.”   There were only a few simple rules for the “Reverse Collection” Challenge:
    1. Don’t spend the money on yourselves
    2. Tell us how you used the money to further our mission
    3. Be creative
    4. Have fun!

    These are stories shared as ways that God inspired St. Lukans to “Pay it Forward.”
