Spring Bistro Series: "Uppity Women of the Bible ~ Ruth"

We continue our journey through the Book of Ruth guided by the lively and thoughtful examination of Rev. Dr. Lisa Wolfe. Consider the vulnerability of widows and the difficult situation of foreigners in biblical times. Explore themes of loyalty, bitterness, courage, poverty and seduction. What really happened on the threshing room floor? Combining humor and careful scholarship, this study invites you to re-read the book with new insight and understanding for all its characters, especially the intelligent, confident – even uppity – heroine Ruth. The weekly sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30. Plan to attend one, a few or all of them.

Wednesdays in Lent: Walking With Jesus

Lent is often described as a forty-day journey. We’ll set aside some time each Wednesday evening to gather as a church and invite Jesus to be with us on our walk. Each week begins with a soup Supper. Sign up below to provide some of the food. We’ll then share some after-supper activities and process to the sanctuary for a service of Worship. Whether your footware is boots, brouges or flip-flops (brrrrrr!) Everyone’s invited, No Exceptions! We’ll need a few people to help provide soup, bread, fruit and help with hosting. Sign up below or on the poster in the Narthex.
