PASTOR SUSAN K. ERICSSON
After completing her Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, Washington, DC native, Susan K. Ericsson was called to serve in Michigan. After eleven years in Detroit, Pastor Sue transitioned to serve as the Assistant to the Bishop for Urban Mission in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, where she served for 13 years. In October of 2006, Pastor Sue was called to be the Senior Pastor of Saint Luke. Sue is married to Charles (Chase) Ferguson, Jr. and has two sons, Amani and Gabe.
PASTOR MATT STANIZ
Pastor for Youth, Family & Service
Matt Staniz graduated with honors from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He has served congregations in Havertown, North Philadelphia and Camden, NJ. Before becoming a pastor, he worked in youth ministry and anti-poverty efforts. Since 2009, he has been a leading faith-based advocate for ending extreme poverty with the ONE Campaign. Pastor Matt began his ministry at Saint Luke in October, 2011. He lives in Chesterbrook, along with his wife Monica and their son Micheal.
PASTOR MARY KONOPKA
Mary Konopka holds a Master of Divinity degree from Christ Seminary-Seminex. She came to Saint Luke after retiring as pastor of Redemption Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, where she had served since 1997. Pastor Mary has been involved in Diakonia™, an ECLA lay education program for spiritual formation and study. She is also one of the co-founders of Rhawnhurst Turning Point, an outreach center for young people in northeast Philadelphia. Pastor Mary’s primary focus is visiting people who are hospitalized, homebound, in crisis or transitional situations.
Director of Music Ministry
John was classically trained on piano, organ, and voice. He has composed hymns, anthems and musicals for the church. John began his work as a church organist/choir director in 1986 and has served congregations in Conshohocken and Audubon. Outside of church, he is the Founder and Artistic Director of MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company, a nonprofit arts-based education program. He is married to his best friend of 11 years, Stacey-Kyle.
