Lenten Food Drive

During the season of Lent, we will collect non-perishable food and cleaning items for our local food pantry. Cereal, granola bars, crackers, mayo, catsup, mustard, juice boxes, oatmeal, paper goods, toothbrushes, toothpaste are the kinds of items in short supply right now. If you’re able to provide these for one of the 125 families served each month by the Great Valley Food Cupboard, please drop them off in the box outside Schlack Hall.

Stoopid: Getting Smart about Substances

Being a teenager can be an exciting time but learning how to cope with school pressure, life at home, and impending adulthood can be overwhelming at times. Too often it's easy to turn to drugs and alcohol as a way to escape from the complexities of life. This one night program is designed just for teens and will be taught by Margaret Peterson, Professor of Theology and Psychology at Eastern University. The cost is $25. Stretch and Pray is a 5 week experience meets during Education Hour on Sundays.  Chase Ferguson, a Stephen's Minister, and Matt Heintzlman, a physical therapist will combine simple stretches and basic body movements with prayer and scripture to enhance physical and spiritual well being. Wear comfortable clothes and bring an open mind to this innovative class. Saint Luke Kids invites kids to join us for a day of service on Martin Luther King Day. Come enjoy a showing of "Our Friend, Martin," create valentines for veterans, and make fleece lap blankets. Spark Student Ministries believes in putting our faith into action. Students in grades 9-12 will visit Silver Springs - Martin Luther School to interact and play games with the young children that live there. In addition to putting faith into action, students have the opportunity to define their values and discover the value of service. 

We will stop for frozen yogurt on the way back to Saint Luke, so students are welcome to bring spending money.
